LVM Zemes dzīles Mineral Materials are Used in the Construction of Facilities of Public Importance

This year, LVM Zemes dzīles has sold more than 350 000 m3 of mineral materials and their aggregates, thus more than 140 000 euros have been paid into the state and local government budgets in the form of natural resources tax. Infrastructure facilities of public importance are also constructed using mineral materials obtained at LVM Zemes dzīles mining sites.

This year, by fully or partially using the mineral materials offered by LVM Zemes dzīles, forest roads of JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM), as well as a number of state and municipal road sections have been built or are still under construction. High-quality construction materials have also been used in the construction of facilities of public importance, such as the extension of Aizkraukle Secondary School, expansion of Jelgava sewerage and water supply networks, construction of LVM Zemgale region customer centre, as well as bicycle path construction in Murjāņi.

Irrespective of the season, LVM Zemes dzīles ensures the availability of high-quality mineral materials in the territory of Latvia for the purposes of road construction, repair works, construction works and production of construction materials, as well as for self-consumption needs. Sand-gravel mixtures and fine materials of various fractions are available at LVM mining sites; by the end of the year, LVM intends to ensure the availability of manufactured mineral materials and their mixtures at as a minimum of 25 mining sites throughout the territory of Latvia.
