Great People for Latvia!

November 18 is a very special day for Latvia – the Republic of Latvia was proclaimed 98 years ago. Both residents and guests are kindly invited to enjoy the celebration program in different places of Latvia. Everyone is welcome to find light and warmth in the Light Festival Staro Rīga, and participate in an interactive history game that will take place next to the Cabinet of Ministers building.

Country – it’s us! Short video stories will be played on the Cabinet of Ministers building on 36 Brīvības Street, Riga, about eminent Latvian personalities of the last 100 years. Graphics complement the video, encouraging everyone to participate in a game and by unraveling the history become a part of the history of Latvia. By answering the questions correctly, everyone will have a chance to be projected on the wall of the Cabinet of Ministers building in the interactive project “Reveal the History – Be Part of the History!”.

People make history, presence, and future. For that reason, JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) already for 17 years has been managing the entrusted State property by collecting and improving knowledge inherited from previous generations about skillful, ongoing and far-reaching forest management. This knowledge will be passed over to our children, who, in the future, will appreciate the importance of taking proper care of the green wealth of Latvia. Once planted as a little seed, but thanks to the human knowledge and caring attitude, skillfully nurtured, the forest will live long.
