Almost a Third Part of Schools in Latvia are Participating in Mammadaba Master Class

To raise students and teachers’ awareness of the processes taking place in the forest and encourage students to spend more time in nature, also when learning, JSC “Latvia’s State Forests”(LVM) organizes Mammadaba Master Class, which is a part of the international environmental education program “Learning about Forests”. Every year, the number of participants is rising, and this year almost a third part of all schools in Latvia have got involved in it.

More than 15 thousand students will acquire one of the lessons outside of the classroom by preparing three big tasks: “Forest Master Class”, “Forest Masterpiece”, and “Forest Master Day”. Schools that applied before September 20, will receive a Board of Masterpieces by mail, where to record all done work during the school year.

LVM would like to express its gratitude to all Mammadaba Master Class participants for their interest, and wishes to all 810 classes and hobby groups that applied for the program this year, productive and green activities exploring the forest in the Mammadaba Master Class!

In the school year 2015/2016, more than eight thousand students from 152 schools in Latvia graduated the Mammadaba Master Class.

Eight schools in Latvia that implemented the biggest number of Master Class activities and involved the greatest number of students and teachers in exploring the forest, in the first day of the school year received the Mammadaba flag and got the accreditation as a Mammadaba Embassy school.

Mammadaba Master Class is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science National Centre for Education.
