Environment Education Camp in Norway

The period of 10-17 August, the winners of the Forest Contest and the competition The 11th Hour organized by AS Latvijas valsts meži [Latvian State Forests] spent in an exciting nature expedition in Norway.

Accompanied by teachers of the largest nature and wildlife school of Norway, the young nature and wildlife explorers went on hiking tours in the mountains, exploring local fauna and flora, canoeing the mountain rivers, camping in wooden cabins without electricity and cooking on open fire. Youngsters visited also the most famous places in Oslo: Viking Ship, Kon-Tiki Museum of Thor Heyerdahl: the celebrated Norwegian explorer and expedition leader, as well as the interactive Hunderfossen Family Park in the vicinity of Lillehammer.
The next year, students and teachers from Norway and the especially the Nature school of Hamar are expected to stay at the camp in Tērvete Nature Park.
