Environment Stands in Towns of Latvia Feature a Poster Painted by a School Girl

Since May 26, a poster named “Plant your own tree!” by Elīna Kļaveniece, a 10th grade student of Iecava Secondary School painted within the framework of a creative ad competition “Different Holywood” organized in Latvia by AS "Latvijas valsts meži", SEB Bank, "Clear Channel Latvija" and Junior Achievement is displayed  in larger towns of Latvia.

Altogether 950 works were submitted for competition “Different Holywood” including 260 specifically dedicated to the theme “Plant your own tree”. Elīna Kļaveniece, the winner, had chosen the following motto for her poster:  “Scare away the smog ghost – plant your own tree!" This poster created by a secondary school student is part of the campaign “Oxygen” implemented by LVM and SEB Bank. Within a year, it aims at planting 2 231 503 pine and spruce trees over the whole Latvia. For achieving of this goal an appeal has been addressed to the 5th and 6th –graders as well as to all inhabitants of this country so that each one should plant at least one tree already this spring.

Elīna Kļaveniece, winner of competition “Different Holywood” says: "It is a pleasing sensation to see my own work displayed on the streets and hear friends telling me that it attracts attention. I’m joining in to the universal call addressed to people of Latvia for planting of at least one tree by each one of us because by joint effort we can do much more than each one individually."
