LVM (“LATVIAN STATE FORESTS”) STOCKS FISH IN LAKES

JSC ”Latvijas valsts meži” („Latvian State Forests”) every year intensively supplements the population of fish in lakes managed by the enterprise. As soon as it becomes warmer there were released into lakes Kaniera, Zebrus and Lielauces 400 thousand young pike. In favourable conditions in a couple of years the fish will grow up and may become a catch of every fisherman

Caring about the catch of fishermen the enterprise every year releases in its lakes thousands of young fish. This year LVM employees released into Lake Zebrus 100 thousand pike grub, into LakeLielauces– 50 thousand, into LakeKaniera– 200 thousand and into the Tērvete (Gulbju) Reservoir – 50 thousand pike grub. In autumn of last year there were released into lakes Kaniera and Zebrus 500 kg of raised young pike.

Latvijas valsts meži offers recreational facilities on the shores of managed lakes, a variety of opportunities for families and organisations.  Fishermen can cook their fish stew right on the spot, and larger sports and leisure events can be organised.
