For companies in the industry that carry out logging and carriage of timber from private forest properties, in accordance with Section 5 of the Forest Law, to be able to easily and quickly coordinate the activities planned in the State forest such as delivery of timber, unloading in warehouses and transportation on forest roads, an electronic application form has been available on the website of JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) since 2018. To facilitate more successful cooperation, LVM has just finished work on improving the application form, making it even more convenient for customers.

APPLICATION FOR COORDINATION OF TIMBER MOVEMENT

The improvements made include more convenient solutions for data entry, the ability to add additional data layers, such as Nature Conservation transmission data on protected areas, and change the background of the map to an orthophoto map or topographic map, as well as visual improvements.

LVM annually receives up to 2 000 applications for transportation for a total volume of approximately 1 million m3, in the processing of which possible risks are comprehensively evaluated both in terms of environmental protection limitations, the technical condition of the infrastructure, and the impact on LVM's planned economic activity. Evaluation is done as quickly as possible, and customers should expect it in around five working days.
