JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” Starts Planting Forest Using Forest Machinery

For the first time in the history of the Latvian forestry practice, JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) introduces forest planting using specialised machinery - the work is done with a special planting device powered by a middle class excavator. The technology allows planting the small trees and simultaneously preparing a special planting site or uplift.

It is planned to plant more than 120 hectares of forest within one year. LVM is organising an open tender to find cooperation partners who would be ready to start this work in the spring of 2019. Contracts are to be concluded for several years.

An informative meeting for potential co-operation partners will take place at LVM Riga Customer Centre, 1 Vaiņodes Street on 10 January 2019 at 11:00. LVM representatives will clarify the procedure for the provision of services, preparation and submission of tender proposals in the Electronic Procurement System, as well as answer other questions of interested parties.
