3. Building wooden bridges for education

Presenter: Kristaps Ceplis (NGO “Green Homes”, Latvia)

Description: “Green Homes” is an organization that promotes the use of wood and improvement of the quality of ecologically, economically and socially sustainable living environments by increasing the use of environmentally friendly and renewable resources in public and private spaces, thereby reducing global pollution and the threat of climate change. It also promotes the establishment of a national coalition of public and business leaders to raise public awareness of the factors affecting the quality of the living environment and to motivate the use of available solutions to improve it.

One of the main tasks of the organization is the education for schools and other parties through the open exhibition “Wood is good”. During the Market of Activities participants tried out the task that children love the most when visiting the exhibition – building the solid wooden bridge without any nails that you can cross at the end of activity!
