For the seventh year running, authors of the best video message have been selected in the LVM Bio-economy School scholarship competition organized by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM). This year, they are young people who created excellent quality video messages for their peers about wood as a sustainable material.

In three rounds of the competition, the participants learned about the innovative field of bio-economy and its importance in creating a sustainable future.

“Creative and smart – that's how today's young people are, as proven by the video messages created for the LVM Bio-economy School competition. The students drew inspiration from the industry experts they met in the forest and at the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, as well as studied the field of bio-economy,” says Līga Abizāre, LVM Environmental Education Manager.

A total of 10 scholarships were awarded – for 700, 500, 300 and 100 euros. Scholarship recipients were chosen by a jury consisting of representatives of LVM, the National Centre for Education, JSC “Latvijas Finieris”, the association “Zaļās mājas”, the association “Latvijas koks”, as well as the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry. In addition, a special award for the best communication in social networks was awarded.
