The largest forestry event took place in the newest part Kurbads Land at LVM Nature Park in Tērvete. More than 12 000 children and adults from all over Latvia visited the two-day forestry festival.

The Latvian Forest Days brought together around 100 different forestry, woodworking and environmental organizations that took care of visitor involvement and well-being during the festive event. Visitors had an opportunity to take part in any of the more than 80 forest research workshops, engage in diverse educational activities with dwarves, Pigman and other forest enthusiasts.

In an attractive and innovative way, visitors of all ages were introduced to the information provided at each stand, and they could get acquainted with a number of exciting activities: mysterious subterranean depths and minerals, and the fascinating work of arborists, they could participate in demonstrations of the Latvian Red Deer Bellowing Club and watch a hunting dog parade. Modern forest management and road construction equipment were of great interest for all the visitors. Participants could make their own bird cages and feather decorations. Enthusiasm and passion shone in the eyes of boys and girls, everyone who visited the various stands of the forestry-related educational institutions could get an insight into their future profession.

Normunds Namnieks, representative of the Latvian Forest Days organisers: "This is the first time that different forest and nature-related organizations are joining forces to give every inhabitant of Latvia a comprehensive account of the forest as our most important natural resource that is managed in an environmentally sustainable and professional manner. Visitors were greatly interested in our green wealth and forestry industry, and therefore we are determined to continue the tradition and make the Latvian Forest Days an annual event that is open to everyone interested."

The theme of the event that took place on 25 May was "From School to Forest". The event also hosted the closing ceremony of the environmental campaign "For a Clean Latvia!" (Tīrai Latvijai!) awarding the winners of the competition "Our Little Hiking Tour" (Mūsu mazais pārgājiens) organised by the Ministry of Agriculture.
