A New Mining Site has been Opened in Amata Municipality

Opening of the mining site “Untiņi” has been completed in LVM Rietumvidzeme forestry area. The total area of the mining site in Amata Municipality Zaube Rural Territory is 14 ha; the estimated available sand reserves reach 1 141.58 thsd m3, and sand-gravel stocks - 688.59 thsd m3. Currently an area of 3.5 hectares has been prepared for the commencement of the extraction of mineral resources.

At the “Untiņi” site, production of mineral materials and their aggregates comply with the “4” system of regulated products in accordance with the following standards:

  • EN 13242:2002 +A1:2007”Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction”;
  • EN 13043:2002, EN 13043/AC:2004 “Aggregates for bituminous mixtures and surface treatments for roads, airfields and other trafficked areas”;
  • EN 12620:2002+A1:2008 “Aggregates for concrete”.
