In September 2018, in cooperation with SIA "Bureau Veritas Latvia", an audit was carried out at JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) mining sites, during which twenty-seven mineral mining sites were surveyed. As a result of the audit, a certificate was granted attesting that currently already at fifty sand and sand-gravel mining sites managed by the company, the production process of mineral materials and their mixtures is in line with the construction product regulated sphere "2+" system according to the following standards:

  • EN 13242:2002+A1:2007 "Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction";
  • EN 13043:2002, EN 13043/AC:2004 "Aggregates for bituminous mixtures and surface treatments for roads, airfields and other trafficked areas";
  • EN 12620:2002+A1:2008 "Aggregates for concrete".
  • The company cares about the compliance of the quality of its products with quality standards. The certificate is a proof that the production process of mineral materials and their mixtures complies with the internationally recognised standards that provide access to high quality mineral materials and their mixtures to the company's cooperation partners.

    The controlled production process ensures traceability of the origin and quality of the mineral materials and their mixtures from the stage of mining to the finished mixture. This is evidenced by the declaration of performance and CE marking, which is particularly relevant for the construction products market.

    LVM manages more than 100 quarries, which are located throughout the territory of Latvia. Quarry development sites are carefully selected in order not to endanger the environment, but at the same time meet the needs of the company and the national economy for sand, sand-gravel and other minerals.
