The Tender for Forest Planting, Tending and Conservation Services is Still Open for Applications

JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) calls on service providers to take part in the open tender for the provision of services for forest planting, agro-technical tending of the restored forest areas, young stand tending and restored forest area conservation in 2019-2023.

The total amount of services for forest planting in the whole territory of Latvia covers 11534 ha, for agro-echnical tending of reforested areas – 33445 ha, for tending of young forests stands – 43272 ha, and for conservation of restored forest areas – 26868 ha, totalling 115119 ha.

"We offer both annual and longer-term contracts. The tender is intended for both experienced co-operation partners and service providers without experience. The total number of services is divided into 365 procurement lots, taking into account the interests of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. We will also additionally pay up to EUR 15 per hectare for works performed in a timely manner, in good quality and skilfully," says Edmunds Linde, LVM Silviculture Planning Manager.

Applications for the participation in this year's tender should be submitted in the Electronic Procurement System (EIS). All September long, meetings will be held in different regions of Latvia where the potential cooperation partners will have an opportunity to learn more about the procedure for drawing up and submitting their tender proposals. Since its foundation in 1999, LVM by implementing sustainable forest management has paid one billion euros to state and local government budgets. LVM's economic activities are carried out by maintaining and recovering forests, taking care of nature conservation, recreation opportunities and increasing timber volumes, as well as investing in expanding the forest land and developing forest infrastructure – renovation of drainage systems and forest road construction.  The volume of timber in the forests managed by LVM increases by 12 million cubic metres annually
