Chairman of the Board | Shares in LVM are held by the Republic of Latvia, acting in the person of the Agriculture Ministry. The agencys governing institutions include a meeting of shareholders and a board.
The meeting of shareholders is the highest ranking institution, and it represents the interests of the shareholder the Agriculture Ministry. The meeting of shareholders is represented by the state secretary of the ministry.
The highest-ranking LVM executive institution is the board, which operates on the basis of regulations, as approved by shareholders, and carries out its functions under the supervision of the council. The board oversees LVM affairs and is responsible for economic activities, as well as bookkeeping that is in full compliance with the law.
LVM board has included Roberts Strīpnieks (chairman) and Arnis Melnis, Gints Bumbieris, Aivars Tiesnesis, Modris Grantiņš, Andrejs Brūvelis and Kārlis Boldiševics (members).
The administrative director of LVM is the chairman of the board.
The aim of the operations of the stock company Latvian State Forests (LVM) is to carry out the interests of the state in the preservation, regeneration and effective management of the forest during the entire cycle of forest management, thus ensuring sustainable management of the forest. LVM manages 1.65 million ha of Latvian territory, including 1.37 million ha of forested territory. |
