LVM “Apaļkoksnes piegādes” ("Round timber supplies") is one of three structural units of LVM. It is founded in February 11, 2002, with the aim to start the production and sale of round timber assortment.

The Objectives of Our Activities

In order to provide LVM and the state – the forest owner – with growing long-term profit, selling timber materials with increased value added, the following objectives are established:

• To be the leader in this industry sector, developing and offering clients new services.
• To set in order business environment in the forestry sector, giving an active contribution to the setting in order of the systems of account and measurement of timber materials and supporting the collection of all taxes, provided for transactions with wood materials.
• To ensure a predictable development environment for the sector's enterprises and create a favourable environment for investments in the processing sector, offering the clients long-term co-operation and ensuring stable supplies.
• To stimulate the increase of value added in Latvia, ensuring maximum rational use of timber.
• To increase the competitiveness of our clients, offering high quality wood raw materials and sophisticated logistics services.
• To promote the acquisition of advanced technologies in this sector and support the sector during the equipment upgrade process.

Our Activities for the Realization of the Above-mentioned Objectives

• To actively follow market requirements and changes both in Latvia and in Europe. On the basis of the development tendencies and the clients' needs, to search, develop and implement new services and products.
• To create transparent and fair processes:
•       to ensure the "transparency" of all processes – tenders, contracts signed, prices;
•       to certify supply chains;
•       to implement the system of account of timber movement from the first day of activity and require the same from our co-operation partners;
•       to use only Latvian standard in timber measurements;
•       to conclude stable and long-term round timber supply contracts – with the term of validity up to 3 years.
• To select wood felling sites, suitable for the processing of the respective assortment. To carry out rational processing of wood felling sites, to optimize the cutting of timber to length, ensuring maximum output of assortment value. The most valuable part of a tree must be used only for the production of valuable assortments.
• To increase the quality of assortments, using forestry equipment and technology, allowing to ensure precise cutting of timber to length, according to specified parameters. To choose a forestry service provider, whose professionalism ensures the evaluation of a tree according to its quality indicators and production of assortment according to the quality specified. To organize highly sophisticated logistic service, optimizing the transportation of timber and ensuring precise supplies to the clients, according to the specified timeframe.
• To set qualitatively new level standards and requirements in forest exploitation, supporting the use of advanced technologies, and establishing a unified IT system, including forest exploitation and transportation cycles and ensuring the exchange of information with the end users' information system. To organize long-term co-operation with customers and service providers, concluding long-term contracts, ensuring stability and guaranteeing the amount of work, giving the possibility to assume long-term commitments for change or upgrade of the means of production.
