On June 4, Anatolijs Ivanovs was rewarded with a royal catch, pulling out a 6.78 kilogram zander from the depths of Lake Zebrus. On June 5, Jānis Milzers and Dmitrijs Kapustjanskis’ bait was grabbed by a nearly four-kilogram zander.

Large pike are awake in Lake.Kaņieris as well. A 10.78 kilogram pike was pulled out on June 5, lucky angler Vladimirs Siņickis.

Thus, May’s record fish, weighing 8.12 kilograms and caught by Jevgeņijs Abrasimovs in Lake Kaņieris, has been beaten. Additional catches from other lakes, managed by JSC “Latvia’s State Forests”, have not been applied for the biggest fish competition in May.
