The New Mother Nature Magazine Calls to Look into the Water Depths

LVM Lake Kaņieris is also known among anglers as a pike paradise, and the largest pike caught in the recent years weighed close to 12 kilograms! Tenches, common roaches, common rudds, breams, crucian carps, and other representatives of the lake fauna are to be found in Lake Kaņieris as well. Birdwatchers will also enjoy the lake - there are towers that open picturesque views; attentive watchers will notice white-tailed sea eagles, swans, water rails, and a wide range of waders.

However, if there are anglers who dream about carps rather than about pikes, LVM Tērvete Reservoir should definitely be included in their summer plans. The stock of carps is replenished every year; however, there are also many other species of fish in the reservoir: pikes, perches, breams, tenches, crucian carps and common roaches. If you wish to have a fishing adventure in a company of friends, boat rentals and more than twenty footbridges are available at the recreation site - here you can both enjoy lonesome fishing or organise a real fishing competition.

After a fresh morning, spent on the waters, you can enjoy a warm summer afternoon heading for a beautiful cycling tour. This can be done, for example, in Smiltene, where there are cycling trails of different lengths and levels of complexity available to visitors, leading along various scenic sights and places of recreation. Lake Niedrāja is one of them. The lake is located only 5 km away from the centre of Smiltene, and holidaymakers always admire its crystal clear waters.
